Sitting down with a Tibetan monk

Today I had the rare privilege of talking with a Tibetan monk. I’m not sure if I’ve ever met anyone who I’ve thought seemed “holy” but today I got to experience a little bit of being with someone who seems to transcend age, the troubles of our times and sees what is most important, kindness to each other and letting ourselves open to the world.

We talked about the lotus flower, and how it comes up out of the mud, and opens with such beauty. He told me we are all like the flower and must try our best to give the best of ourselves to each other.

When we’d had our chat, I felt tears in my eyes. I didn’t want to leave him. His presence was so tranquil, so calming that I felt soothed and all my worries left me. We talked about meditation and how much it can help with dealing with the struggles of day to day life and I felt truly honored for the time we’d spent together.

Thank you universe for bringing this man into my life today. I hope we will meet again.
