Day three of summer holidays

Starts with not with a bang but a nap. Granted, we had a busy weekend, complete with Canada celebrations, birthday parties and brunch with friends, but what I did not expect was an afternoon nap.

I lay down with my ereader, determined to make some headway on my Virginia Woolf novel, “To the Lighthouse,” which I try to read every summer to be reminded of how great writers write. And within minutes, I’d pulled up the blanket and was nestled in on the couch.

The most amazing part was that both my children were also in the house, the tv was not on, and they read quietly for an hour or so in their rooms. The nap was heaven sent and gave me the energy to make a lovely tomatoe sauce with basil and rosemary from the garden and then garden time. I think this is going to be the best summer yet!
