Oh, how I wish it had been better – Mission Impossible 5 review

Mission Impossible 5 – too many balls in the air and Ethan Hunt catches none. I wished for more tricks, more face peeling of secret identities, more fun. Even more romance but bogged down in a wayward script, an overbearing Alex Baldwin, and an aging Cruise who looks surprised he can pull off any of Ethan Hunts trademark stunts, I felt like I’d seen it all before 10 years ago.

Too bad I didn’t see the tag line “desperate times call for desperate measures” before I went in. It really did all feel a lot like an act of desperation and I had such high hopes for Mr. Cruise and the  boys who created “Lost.”
