But how can you light up, after all you’re not a lamp or a bolt of lightning?

But I am a writer and talking to teachers about my stories is something I never expected to give me  such a complete sense of purpose and satisfaction.

It just felt right and so good to say, yes, this is what I’m all about. This is me! I’m a young adult author, I’m self-published and very excited to talk to kids about what I’ve spent the last 15 years trying to become.

So let’s just say my time at my kids’ school today went better than I ever could have expected. I am happy.
