Up to page 63 on the first draft of my third story. Chapter Five is done

Exciting for me to sit down today and get back to Mabel in the caves of Petra Jordan and finish writing the fifth chapter of my new book. I am definitely on my way with the first third of the book down on paper and clear in my mind. Thankful for the courage to write, […]

The world works in wonderful ways

Last week my writing took a backseat to taking care of my son who got a nasty infection in his leg. But we made a new friend out of the bargain, a student from Barcelona, who joined us for some family time and told us all about Catalonia, the region she’s from in Spain. My […]

Just signed up for a week of immersion French classes in June

I’m so excited to keep my French going this summer with a chance to do a week of immersion. Bring on the fluency!

My summer just took a huge spin with the chance to take private french lessons

I get so excited every time I think about speaking fluently/courament in Francais. So, what a morning to speak with a lovely teacher who is available in August for private lessons. I can hardly wait and must work extra hard for the next month on my regular lessons to be my ultra-French self.

Me at 11 and 12 years old. Throwback Tuesday!

Here’s the evidence of me circa 1984-1986. Lovely to see the girl I was when we were living in Jakarta, Indonesia. Thought it might be fun for fans to see my former self!

Just this kind of day down at the local marina

I’m in love with our local marina and how low-key it is on the water. We went out boating today and the fresh air was fabulous!

We call them the icecream sundae socks

These beauties are socks I made for my daughter a few weeks ago. I am just loving knitting right now, as I’m sure you can tell from my many blogs posts about my wool creations. I’ve just started another pair for myself in a heathery-oatmeal green wool. Such fun to sit and knit at night […]

The first three chapters of Mabel Hartley The Crusader’s Hoard are done!

I’ve been back writing for a few weeks now and what a great adventure I’ve been on with Mabel and friends in Petra, Jordan. It feels so great to have the first three chapters under my belt, especially when you begin a new story and despite all the research and planning you’re never quite sure […]
