If a picture’s worth a thousand words, this, friends, is my dream come true! A full house for my Mabel reading today!

Today was great. I was invited to speak to three classes in Grades 4, 5 and 6 at an elementary school in Nanaimo. We were on a tight timeline, with only a half hour to spare so I read for 20 minutes and took questions for another 10 minutes.

The young adults I read to had great questions and were very interested in the history I delve into in my books and how I became a writer. I even got to talk about my next book The Gangster’s Cache, and how Mabel’s true identity becomes such a big part of the story.

When I got into my car afterwards, all I could think was, awesome, my life is awesome. I love what I do and feel it’s a great privilege to be able to share my writing. Thank you universe for taking me into this school, and a French immersion one no less.

I wonder if they would let me be a student? That would be the icing on the cake!
