I always assume that writer’s have every dash and comma in place long before it appears on the page – and so with endings, I never tire in my respect for author’s who have surprised me or made me sit back and go “wow” what a story.
So the way I write is a little more inspired, I have a general plan for how I think things can go, but usually what happens in the “flow” is a complete surprise to me.
With 1 1/2 chapters to go on my third book, the conclusion is a real surprise, or I should say some of the elements are and they leave me thinking “I’m so glad I got out of the way and that I let the story tell itself”.
