The food the food the food

january 27, 2015 028You don’t have to search high and low, or even anywhere at all to come home from NYC feeling like you’ve left a culinary mecca behind.

We took the subway to Brooklyn for Montreal-style smoked meat sandwiches. The café was the size of two closets, with funky bowling alley lanes repurposed for the counter tops.

I drank prosecco (a bit of a theme for our trip) and white tuna salad with our sandwiches.

It was awesome. And I have to tell you that most of the eateries are like this. Tiny venues with big heart. I wish we’d had a chance to explore them all.
