Of all the things I do, finishing the first draft of a story makes me feel the most like a kid again.
There is a giddy joy to finishing something you’ve put your heart and soul into and with my third Mabel Hartley story, I feel like I’ve created somewhat of a masterpiece, at least in the world of Mabel Hartley.
All the pieces fit together so finely, and despite all the revisions and formatting to come, I feel this inexplicable joy of a job well done. And I give myself an A-. An A+ will come as we near publication on Amazon in the Fall. My goal is for this story to be available for Christmas. There I said it.
